UPB Drive
CAD Designer
Updated: Oct 11, 2021
Summary:
As a CAD Designer, your main task is to design different components that will eventually make their way into the vehicle. Thus, imagination is key and the limit is only our manufacturing capabilities. You often have to work alongside other team members in order to integrate the parts and assemblies that you create. All that you design in 3D must be accompanied by a 2D drawing for the manufacturing process.
What you will be doing:
Meet with engineers, draftsmen, and designers to review blueprints and design drawings
Design, develop and engineer high-quality models using CATIA, knowing that all the models must respect the FSAE rules
Calculate costs and apply knowledge of materials and engineering principles to check the feasibility of manufacture and construction of the product
Completing task reports and technical documentation
Get used to working on the whole assembly of the vehicle
Use standardized components supplied by partners
What we expect:
3D CAD design skills in CATIA V5 ( Mechanical Design)
2D Drawing skills ( CATIA V5 Drafting)
Nice to have:
Understanding of Automotive assemblies
Understanding of good engineering practices in designing mechanical components
Knowledge of machining processes
